There’s nothing like a flavorful, warming soup when the cold, rainy weather comes out in full force in late fall. Well, there’s really nothing like a flavorful, warming soup anytime you are craving a little comfort, but this one featuring sugar pumpkin is especially appropriate this time of year.

This City Arts recipe is a nice variation on your traditional pumpkin puree soup—the addition of savory Cornish game hen breast and crisp julienned parsnips give depth and texture to the otherwise silky smooth pumpkin blend. The result is a very satisfying meal that warms from the inside out.
